“My daughter still talks about her Big Sister, and it’s over 12 months since she finished the programme! It genuinely is life-changing for the girls. Victoria started the scheme unsure what she wanted to do with herself, with little confidence and a typical 13 year old girl.
When she finished the scheme, she had a direction, aim and desire to chase it no matter what. 12 months on, we’ve navigated most of year 10, sat her first mocks, and she’s smashing life in general! She’d started doing Air Cadets while being a little sister, something her big sister really encouraged her to start, and she should get her first promotion at Cadets this year! She also wants to join the RAF when she finishes College.
For anyone thinking about joining the scheme as a big sister, do it. When people say your impact will be life changing, it’s not an exaggeration. When we attended the graduation for Victoria, and listened to the Big and Little sisters speeches, I cried at everyone’s, not just my own daughter’s. The impact on Big and Little sisters alike was incredible to hear. There is no better time to do it than today .”
