Our mission is to raise the aspirations of teenage girls in the UK aged between 12- 16 and we do this by creating and delivering 2 early intervention programmes in schools, namely a mentoring programme for middle girls called BIG SISTER and an emotional coaching intervention for at risk girls called STARDOM. Alongside these we also deliver workshops, Role Model Relay event and bespoke programmes.
When it comes to raising funds anything goes! Apart from lap dancing marathons, botox parties and other obvious no nos! You could also help by adopting us as your cause…
Set up a Just Giving Page for you fundraising efforts
As The Girls Out loud Foundation is managed by Forever Manchester when you set up your Just Giving Page it must be directed to them, however it is important your donors know you are raising money for Girls Out Loud and not the wider Forever Manchester Fund so follow the guidelines on setting up your page. Or if this feels like hard work and you just want to give, simply decide on a monthly amount you can afford and set up a payment via paypal or your bank account. (our bank details are shown on our Fund Raising Guidelines).

Adopt us as your cause for the year
Adopt us as your cause for the coming year and beyond. This is a perfect idea for any organisation including a business, community group, school, college or university, network or professional association. We will provide you with logos and support materials to position Girls Out Loud as your cause of choice for the next 12 months and then you can host events, create opportunities for your staff/members to get involved fund raising or simply allocate x% of your pre-tax profits or a defined amount to Girls Out Loud at the end of the year. Volunteer: You can apply to be a Big Sister or Role Model Relay volunteer
Girls Out Loud is all about harnessing the talents, support and commitment of successful women LIKE YOU. Your words of wisdom, guidance, advocacy and life lessons will change the lives of teenage girls across the country – we know this for sure. With this in mind, we invite you to step up and volunteer at one of our 2 hour Role Model Relay events or step up and become a BIG SISTER mentor to a middle girl for a year. You will be well briefed and trained to participate in either of these programmes and alongside helping girls to find their voice, raise their aspirations and top up their confidence you will get to meet some awesome women and be part of a cause worthy of your time. Take part in an exerthon as an individual or family – if you have a treadmill run or climb distance equivalent of iconic journey or mountain.
Create an online quiz on ANY subject, could even be kid’s homework! Then encourage all your network to participate by donating £5/10 to enter – deliver this on any online platform. Zoom, Facebook etc
Sponsored silence, great one for the kids!
Baking circle- ask all pals who live close to join circle for a fee – each week you all bake something and deliver to nominated household in the circle ie Jane bakes flapjacks for Joanne, Joanne bakes a pie for Helen, Helen bakes a cake for Caroline etc. You could also extend this challenge to include delivering baked goods to the vulnerable in your community too. A double whammy!
Dress for dinner – get sponsored to dress up for dinner either black tie or fancy dress with what you get create in the house, then video or post pics.
Lip sync to your favourite song or recreate your favourite pop video or dance then upload to our YouTube channel and we will publish the top five, monthly on our social media feed.
These are just a few but the list is endless and could include crafts, knitting, garden activities etc. In all cases you can set up your own JustGiving page via our website, so it is easy to collect money. Here are some ideas/things that have been done before….Challenge yourself physically – sky dives, fun runs, dog walks, hill climbs and even mountain treks. Get healthy, get fit, get on ya bike and get moving!
Let’s party – invite your family, friends, work colleagues and wider network to meet and chat at afternoon teas, pub quizzes, karaoke nights, murder mystery dinners, curry nights, car-boot sales, treasure hunts, fashion shows etc
Get creative – dye your hair purple for a month, compete in a chocolate eating contest, host a silly sports day, challenge your boss to some sort of dual, have a dress down day or non uniform day.
And remember your employer may match whatever your raise and/or may also support our cause so no harm in asking.
We cannot accept any liability for any events you decide to do so if this is on a grand scale you may want to think about insurance.
