Fundraising Guidelines

Girls Out Loud is a Community Interest Company. This means we are a not for profit organisation with a community wide agenda and an interest in creating real social change.

You can send any money raised as a cheque made payable to Girls Out Loud CIC and send to:

Girls Out Loud CIC, 3rd Floor, St George’s House, 56 Peter Street, Manchester, M2 3NQ or you can pay via an online transfer into our bank account at Unity Trust – Sort code: 60 83 01 Account Number: 20244972 or pay into our paypal account via this link here.

We will always send you a receipt on request and include as many stories as we can in our regular newsletter Shout Out and post your efforts on our social media platforms.

Setting up your JustGiving page

As The Girls Out loud Foundation is managed by Forever Manchester, when you set up your Just Giving Page it must be directed to them, however it is important your donors know you are raising money for Girls Out Loud and not the wider Forever Manchester Fund so here are guidelines on setting up your page:

  1. Go to https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/forevermanchester/girlsoutloud and click on the Start fundraising button. This will take you to the JustGiving sign in page. Please sign in here or if you do not yet have a JustGiving account click on sign up to enter your details and create a new account.
  2. Once signed in you will be taken to the Girls Out Loud, run by Forever Manchester activities page. Now select the most appropriate option from the icons available to match your chosen fundraising activity.
  3. On the next page, if it is an organised event please select it from the options available, if it is your own event, select the type of event or appeal  and then type in your event name, you can then select the date of the event.
  4. Next, select the target amount of money you would like to raise.
  5. Personalise your page! Next change the title of your page to something appropriate to what your challenge is, ensuring that you replace ‘fundraiser for Forever Manchester’ with ‘fundraiser for Girls Out Loud’.
  6. The next section asks Why are your raising money?  Please delete the pre-written text in this box “Forever Manchester is a…… and replace it with the following copy: The Girls Out Loud Foundation is a charitable fund administered by Forever Manchester, the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester (charity no. 1017504) We are passionate about raising the aspirations of teenage girls in the UK. We do this by creating and delivering early intervention programmes in schools from 2 hours to 12 months in duration. Our core philosophy is about connecting girls to real female role models and we do this via our school events and 12 month mentoring programme called BIG SISTER.   7. You can now customise your web URL link if you would like to or leave it as the pre allocated link.
  8. Next: Cover Page – You now need to insert the Girls Out Loud Logo at the top of your page, replacing the Forever Manchester Logo that is currently featured. Firstly download and save our logo to your computer from the following link: Girls Out Loud logos then click the ‘Upload photo’ button. Select our Logo from your computer files and it will then be uploaded, you will need to adjust the zoom by toggling the purple circle to the left slightly so that the whole logo fits into the box. Once done click the ‘Next: Finalise’ button.
  9. A summary of your fundraiser will be displayed; you can then opt to keep in touch with Forever Manchester regarding the impact of your fundraising if you wish to. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the ‘Launch my page’ button. A window will then flash up saying ‘Kickstart your fundraiser’ you can now donate to your own campaign if you would like to get the ball rolling.
  10. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that you have set up a Campaign for Girls Out Loud.
  11. Your page is now all set up and is ready to share via social media! Just hit the ‘share’ button.

At the end of your event Forever Manchester will collect all the funds you have raised and add on the relevant gift aid and then transfer all the money to the Girls Out Loud Foundation.

Here are some ideas/things that have been done before… Challenge yourself physically – sky dives, fun runs, dog walks, hill climbs and even mountain treks. Get healthy, get fit, get on ya bike and get moving!

Let’s party – invite your family, friends, work colleagues and wider network to meet and chat at afternoon teas, pub quizzes, karaoke nights, murder mystery dinners, curry nights, car-boot sales, treasure hunts, fashion shows etc

Get creative – dye your hair purple for a month, compete in a chocolate eating contest, host a silly sports day, challenge your boss to some sort of dual, have a dress down day or non uniform day.

And remember your employer may match whatever your raise and/or may also support our cause so no harm in asking.
